Manuscripts to be considered for publication may now be sent to Geomatica as PDF files or word processor files attached to e-mail messages, or as paper copy sent through the regular mail.

PDF (Portable Digital File) files and word processor files (MicroSoft Word or WordPerfect) should be attached to e-mail messages addressed to editgeo@SPAMBLOCKmagma.ca (Please remove "SPAMBLOCK" to email")

Paper copies sent by regular mail, should be sent to the Editor, Geomatica, Canadian Institute of Geomatics, 1390 Prince of Wales Drive, Suite 400, Ottawa, ON K2C 3N6. When submitting manuscripts for peer-review and publication in the Features section of Geomatica, three copies should be mailed, two to be sent to reviewers and one for our files. Only one copy of other articles and items are needed.

There is a charge to authors of $50 per page for the publication of peer-reviewed papers. CIG members are exempt. (Annual dues for full membership are CAN$125 +$8.75 GST, and for student members $40 +$2.80 GST. GST applies in Canada only, however, outside of Canada, a shipping charge of $30 applies.) There is no charge for the publication of unreviewed articles.

Before sending electronic files or paper copies of manuscripts submitted for publication as peer- reviewed papers in the Features section of Geomatica, the authors’ names and affiliations must be omitted from the text so the papers are anonymous during review.

Authors’ biographies or photos are not to be included at this stage. An abstract of 100 to 150 words is required. The covering e-mail message or letter, not the manuscript, should then contain the authors’ names and the e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and Fax number of the main contact author.

These instructions apply only to the initial submission of papers, articles and other items. Once an item has been reviewed and accepted, more specific instructions are sent to authors to finalize their items for publication.
